Ushanka Pattern

I'm teaching myself how to make a correct pattern packet, including technical design. Hopefully it'll turn out like those McCall's pattern packets.

I've been wanting a Ushanka type hat for the up coming winter. I couldn't find an actural pattern, so I made one. It's as close as I could get it to be. Couple of rules to making the hat:
-Enlarge this pattern 50%
-Based on 24 inch circumference
-Always over estimate the measurements (Easier to take off than to put on)
-When dealing with furs (fake or real), use eye protection; small pieces of fur WILL get into unprotected eyes.
-With the top, I cut out a circle piece (head circumference), sewn on half way and hand sewn it shut...or...you can allow more material at the top and fold in the corners, then sew shut.
